Gaea Artifact

Fecund female images arise from our earliest human existence. The name Gaea for the concept of a Mother-Earth derives from the Greek root ge, meaning earth or land. From this root also comes the word geology.

Pangaea is the name given by geologists to the "supercontinent" whose breaking apart, which began some 250 million years ago, gave us the continents of our earth as we know them today. Pangaea is but one "supercontinent", the most recent one, in a cycle that reaches back billions of years into deep time, a cycle of building up and breaking apart that will continue as long as our planet earth exists.
